Building My Own Personal Brand - Digital Experimentation
Overview/Challenge: After years of managing social media for diverse brands, I embarked on a personal challenge: to apply my expertise to my own brand. The goal was to build an engaged and relevant personal brand, rigorously testing my understanding of the digital landscape and validating my strategies firsthand.
My Role: As the sole Strategist & Creator, I was responsible for all aspects of content ideation, production, and platform management for my personal brand.
Strategy & Execution: My strategic approach involved a high-volume, consistent posting schedule: daily posting on TikTok, weekly posting on YouTube, and consistent posting on Instagram, with a strong focus on trialing various short-form video formats and editing techniques. This hands-on experimentation allowed for rapid learning and adaptation to evolving online trends, while consciously striving to maintain authenticity and create evergreen content.
Results & Impact: Within just three months, I achieved remarkable results, including over 600,000 views on TikTok and 3,000 followers. A YouTube video also amassed over 1,000 views. This intensive personal project provided an invaluable, in-depth understanding of the online landscape, what truly interests and engages people, and how to balance trending content with authentic, evergreen value.
Key Learnings/Takeaways: This experience solidified the insight that while leveraging trends is important, creativity is king. To truly cut through the noise, unique ideas, a strong brand presence, and an engaging hook are paramount. This project pushed me to delve deeper into marketing psychology, providing countless transferable takeaways that I now apply to my work for brands within social media.
